Beefsteak tomato "Country Taste" F1.
Very tasty, fleshy and juicy.
Medium-early indeterminant hybrid for cultivation in foilhouses and on free soil. Fruit is slightly ribbed near stalk.
Weighting about 200-250 g.
* Number of 1000 seeds = 3,0 g.
* Number of seeds in 1,0 g = 250-300.

* When the second true leaf appears, the seedlings are transplanted into peat-humus pots or cubes, paper or cardboard cups filled with a nutrient mixture.
The best, healthy seedlings are selected for transplanting. They are carefully removed from the seed box and a depression is made in the soil with a peg. Then the seedling is placed, from which 1/3 of the main root is first removed so that the root system develops well. When planting, the roots of the transplanted seedling are pressed tightly with soil so that it cannot be pulled out.
Seedlings are always transplanted a little deeper than they grew in the seed box. When transplanting, the seedling is deepened to the cotyledons. Pots with transplanted seedlings are watered abundantly with water heated to +20+25°C and shaded for 24 hours. The temperature during the day is maintained at +15+18°C, at night at +10+12°C. As soon as the plants get a little stronger, they are placed closer to the light.
It is advisable to provide the plants with additional lighting to extend the daylight hours to 12-14 hours per day. Fluorescent lamps are initially placed above the plants at a height of 15-20 cm, and as the plants grow, the lamps are raised higher.
It is also recommended to carry out fertilizing watering. During the period of growing seedlings, three additional feedings are given at intervals of 10-12 days: the first - 10 days after picking.
The first and second feedings are given at the rate of: 5 g of urea, 40 g of superphosphate and 15 g of potassium salt per bucket of water.
The third feeding consists of double the amount of fertilizers. For 16-17 plants, 0.5-0.6 liters of nutrient solution are used.
After each additional feeding, the seedlings are watered (mandatory!) - with clean water to wash the solution off the leaves.
When applying fertilizers, you need to monitor the condition of the seedlings: if growth is weak, increase the dose of urea, if growth is strong, add phosphorus-potassium fertilizers.
If tomato seedlings are grown in boxes or insulated greenhouses, you need to keep in mind that when removing seedlings from a box or greenhouse, a significant number of roots are torn off and the absorption capacity of the entire root system is reduced many times: the remaining roots are not able to replenish the water consumed for evaporation from the surface of the leaves, as a result of which the plant's vital activity is disrupted.
The greater the discrepancy between the absorption capacity of the roots and the evaporating surface of the leaves, the more the vital activity of the plants is weakened. This is why mature and well-leafed seedlings tolerate transplantation most painfully.
It should be especially noted that the maximum age of tomato seedlings should be 60-70 days.

Did you know that ... more than 65% relative humidity in a greenhouse is detrimental to the crop. Therefore, it is desirable to water strictly under the root, without moistening the plant.
To do this, remove the strainer from the watering can, and when watering from a hose, in no case allow the whole plant to be sprinkled. After watering, the greenhouse is ventilated.
Thus, all tomatoes, peppers, eggplants in protected ground are watered.
